The Claudia Dress is a showstopper that works equally well for dinner, drinks, or the office (if we ever get back into an office!). It's a midi length style, cut from a subtly twill-textured silky lyocell. It's cut for a loose fit, but with a belt for cinching at the waist, complemented by a single slit at one side. It's gathered at the shoulders and finished off with modern toggles at the cuffs for a gorgeous point of interest.
Marwa is 5'9 and usually wears a UK 8. She's wearing a UK 8 in the Claudia Dress. This style fits true-to-size, so we recommend choosing your usual size!
Mother of Pearl is a contemporary womenswear brand that celebrates individuality, authenticity and sustainability. Their design mantra is classic, but never boring.
Founded in 2002, Mother of Pearl make fashion with wit, heart and conscience - contemporary design with attitude that doesn’t cost the earth.
In just 13 years, Amy Powney has gone from sweeping the cutting-room floor at Mother of Pearl to taking the helm as its Creative Director. Sustainability has been a life-long passion for Amy and she’s been on a mission for Mother of Pearl to reduce its impact on the planet. Her collections have been shown at London Fashion Week and Copenhagen Fashion Week and are stocked by prestigious global retailers including Net-a-Porter, Harrods, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Goop.
“There’s no handbook on how to make a brand sustainable, but I wanted to know from start to finish where our product was grown or derived, who was making it and the social impacts along the way. I’ve journeyed to find the best factories, suppliers and farmers who care about the planet and its inhabitants as much as we do.”
In 2017, winning the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund enabled Mother of Pearl to launch No Frills, a core sustainable collection that forms the everyday wardrobe. They are proud to make it from organic and natural materials, with a transparent supply chain, putting social responsibility, respect to animals and low-environmental impact first and foremost.
